Concert Band

Darryl Braye

For the past 3 years, Darryl has been teaching music at Ross Sheppard High School. He co-directs the Grade 10 band, Grade 11/12 band, the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Bands. He also teaches the 20/30 International Baccalaureate classes. He started playing cornet at an early age with Salvation Army Brass Bands in Edmonton. He completed his education degree in 2001 from the University of Alberta and began teaching that same year at Steele Heights Junior High School in North East Edmonton. He enjoyed performing with the University of Alberta/Grant MacEwan Jazz Bands, U of A concert Band and Wind Ensembles and has recently become a member of the Mission Hill Brass Band. Darryl has been a board member with the Alberta Band Association, co-director of the Edmonton Jazz Works Festival for 4 years and is an active trumpet clinician. He was a faculty member at the University Sumer Jazz clinic and is co-director of the Edmonton Eskimos Pep Band.
